Serkan Karadeniz

Serkan graduated from the Department of Statistics at Yıldız Technical University in 2005. After graduation, he gained extensive experience working for about 8 years in the headquarters of leading banks in Turkey. However, his passion for art and craftsmanship led him to pursue a different path.

For nearly 20 years, Serkan has been deeply dedicated to calligraphy, continuing to both teach and learn this timeless art. Through his professional workshops and projects, he strives to share the beauty of calligraphy with a wider audience. This passion drove him to establish his own brand, Kalibru Art, 10 years ago. Focusing on leather craftsmanship, he began designing and creating handmade leather products.

A year ago, Serkan met Zeynep, and her contributions to production, social media management, and brand strategy added a new dimension to the Kalibru Art story. Together, they steered the brand toward a more sustainability-focused direction.

​

Serkan has since transitioned to creating products with bio vegan leather, aiming to design environmentally friendly pieces. Kalibru Art’s long-term vision is to produce its own bio vegan leather, using it to craft sustainable and innovative designs. Serkan continues to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics while embracing a production philosophy that respects nature.

 

Emine Zeynep Karadeniz

Zeynep is an educator and designer who has dedicated her life to the transformative power of art and design. Working with gifted students in Izmir, she inspires young people in areas such as animated films, poster design and photography. Zeynep has a wide range of interests including psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, fantasy literature and neolithic archaeology, and she uses this rich background productively both in teaching and design.

Meeting Kalibru Art was a turning point where her passion for design and her sensitivity to sustainability came together. Kalibru Art's founder Serkan's vision of combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design led Zeynep to join him on this creative journey. Together, they continue to produce traditional leather goods and contribute to a sustainable future with their vegan leather designs.

Zeynep believes that Kalibru Art is not only a brand, but also a representative of a way of life that respects nature and people. In this journey where art, craft and sustainability come together, she continues to leave her mark both locally and globally.
